2007-11-20 22:39 - some updates
Posted by Georgemore from same (Quake 4)
Just thought I'd post a little update as its been a very long time!

The site has been ticking along over the last few months and I've not really spent much time here. Well things are changing.

I have on order a brand new server that is around 20 times more powerful than the existing one. Of course I'm not upgrading just for the sake of it. (Well maybe but there are other reasons)

Some things planned in the pipeline.

Run some game servers, Q4, D3, ET:QW, COD4 and possibly Fear.
Re-intergrate D3HQ/Q4HQ into a single centralised site

Watch this space. Shortly before Christmas there should be an announcment with the changes to be made.

See ya!

2006-10-02 22:16 - A little update
Posted by Georgemore from same (Q4HQ)
Hey guys!

Long time no see. Sorry but these last few months have been very busy. I was studying for my CCNA and working hard so had little time to maintain the site

Well I have passed my Cisco CCNA exam now and have more free time to work on the site. I'm already working on the new server and testing this site on that. Too many script errors on this one. Its just quicker to migrate it to a new server. This will probably be happening before the end of this week.

Anyway I hope to start revisting this site on a daily basis providing updates and trolling the forums

Hope to see you all soon. Thanks for your patience.

See ya!
George

2006-03-08 17:52 - We're back again!
Posted by Georgemore from same (Quake 4)
Hey guys!

First off an apology for the massive downtime we've had. As most of you are probably aware I had to move the site to different server however I had major problems with it and then right after that I took my vacation so didn't have any time to work on it as I was topping up my sun tan

Well after arriving back in the UK I was faced with loads of study for my Cisco CCNA course so I had to put the site on hold for a bit.

Well as you've probably figured by reading this, the site is back up again! I'll be hopefully updating it a bit over the coming weeks. As ever looking for assistance posting news.

[update]It appears there is a problem with the forum tables for Q4HQ. I'll take a look at this. Post a comment if you notice more bugs. D3HQ is up and working fine btw

See ya!

2005-12-22 00:13 - Official Quake 4 Map pack released!
Posted by Georgemore from same (Quake 4)
ID Software have released 3 new official Quake 4 maps!

Deck the halls with Rails and Rockets... id Software, Raven, and Activision have released the Quakemas Map Pack - three free new downloadable maps for QUAKE 4 on the PC. The maps - Railed, Tremors, and Campground Redux - offer all-new gameplay environments for more intense action in deathmatch, TDM, capture-the-flag and tournament combat. Have fun with the maps and stay tuned for much more in 2006!

Click on the title links to see screenshots

Railed - q4tourney1
Set in an abandoned, rusting Strogg facility, this new map is all about close-quarters combat and hair-trigger reflexes as players hustle through the winding, multi-tiered corridors. Designed particularly for tournament play, Railed also supports Deathmatch and TDM game modes.

Quakemas - Tremors Tremors - q4ctf7
Built within a twisting underground cavern, Tremors demands tactical expertise. Enemies attack from above and below in the enormous, multi-tiered environment, making team-play invaluable. Perfect for large CTF games, the map also supports the Arena CTF mode.

Quakemas Campgrounds Redux Campgrounds Redux - q4dm9
A revitalization of a QUAKE III Arena classic. Excellent for any number of players, Campgrounds Redux supports Deathmatch, TDM and Tournament modes, where hard-core QUAKE fans can get crazy with this throw-back to one of their old favorites.

2005-12-03 03:51 - Quake 4: HardQore Media updates
Posted by revilitymore from same (Quake 4)
The Quake 4: HardQore website has been updated with two images of our work in progress Sarge model & one in game shot of the model in action. We also have two ingame screens of a work in progress map by Desmasic and two pieces of production art by Hellscafe

Progress wise, Phil has started coding the new camera system we will be using. If everything stays on track, we’ll have more to show in time for the Holidays, including shots of Nefarious’ Baby Eater model.

We are also still looking for more help! Positions include mappers, modelers, a musician and one more coder. You can learn more about these positions and see our new media updates for this 3d sidescrolling run-n-gun Q4 mod at http://www.hq.theredgorilla.com.

Enjoy!
